Ceremony Details and FAQs

General Information

The inaugural ceremonies begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014. The ceremony will be followed by the inaugural parade and the program will conclude by approximately 3:00 PM, with the Executive Mansion Open House following the parade. The Open House is not ticketed and is open to the public. Capitol Square gates will open at 9:30 AM. Gates A and G are open to the public. Security screening will be in effect (click here for a list of prohibited items). The inaugural ceremonies will be live streamed here for those unable to attend.

Gate A, at 9th and Grace Streets, is the main public entrance.

Follow signage near Capitol Square to the public entrances. The main public entrance to Capitol Square is Gate A at 9th and Grace Streets. Gate G is also open to the public, on Governor Street between Bank and Grace Streets. For the best view of the Inaugural Parade outside of Capitol Square, a public standing area will be at Gates A and at Franklin Street between 9th and 7th Streets.

For Ticketed Guests

Follow signage near Capitol Square to the public entrances. The main public entrance to Capitol Square is Gate A at 9th and Grace Streets. Gate G is also open to the public, on Governor Street between Bank and Grace Streets. After security screening, follow signs to the ticketed areas. Ushers will help you to your seats. The ceremony begins promptly at 12:00 PM and attendees need to be in their seats by 11:30 AM.

For Guests with Disabilities

Gate A, at 9th and Grace Streets, is wheelchair accessible. ASL interpreters will be present for the ceremony and parade.

For Members of the General Public

Follow signage near Capitol Square to the public entrances. The main public entrance to Capitol Square is Gate A at 9th and Grace Streets. There is also a public entrance on Governor Street at Gate G.  Standing room for ceremony and parade viewing is available on the north and west sides of the Capitol, near Gate A.  For the general public, for the best view of the Inaugural Parade outside of Capitol Square, a public standing area is Franklin Street between 9th and 7th Streets.

Parking Information

The parking decks at 14th and Main Streets, 7th and Marshall Streets, and 7th and Franklin Streets will be open on inauguration day for public parking starting at 9am. For street parking, follow posted signs.
